We almost had a candidate for that award before the rally even started.
Monday we (actually, the rest of the guys cause I took my little urchins shooting all afternoon) set the field up and a buddy with a 100cc gasser Yak 54 came in a little hot on his final and couldn't get his plane slowed down quick enough.
The 8' chain link fence at the end of the field serves as a very efficient backstop for airplanes.
Luckily all that was hurt was his pride and a $100.00 carbon fiber prop.
It's about a $4,500 plane so I think he came away pretty fortunate.
Here's my Yak 54 with a 100cc Desert Aircraft Twin. Runs on gasoline.
Testing out the new smoke system!!
