This is not a LR rifle but I would like to build a savage rifle for my wife myself. My donor action is 116. I will be building up a 7mm-08. Specs:
model 116 action
18" Mcgowen barrel plus
muzzle brake 7mm-08 (Lightest possible)
Mcmillian Edge stock
Rifle Basix trigger
What do you guys think my finished weight would be for this rifle? Being a long action Im worried it will be too heavy. Its just all I have. I was going to top it off with a ultra light scope of some kind.... Maybe a leupold.
Like to build her something she wont complain about the weight, but still be comfortable to shoot.
