Sako 22-250 bolt lift

Had this gun shooting reasonably well. Did not shoot the gun for a year or so. The gun would not shoot on the paper. Noticed the bolt lift while dryfiring was very difficult to lift after pulling the trigger. It also felt like it was grinding against something. Any ideas on the hard bolt lift? Thanks.

Re: Sako 22-250 bolt lift

I don't claim to be a smith, but a couple of things come to mind...

Remove the bolt and look at the back side of the lugs. Are the lugs gauling?

Do the scope mount screws protrude through the top of the reciever?

Does it only do it after dry firing? Or, does it also bind when opening/closing the handle with no shell in the chamber and no dry firing?

Disassemble the bolt and see what's binding.
