The model 7 action is just a shorter version of the 700 .
The magazine is the same length as the short action so any round that will fit in the 700 short
action will work in the model 7.
As to the quality as a rule the model 7 action has a little better quality control and is a very
good action.
The down side to the model 7 is custom stocks are harder to find,scope bases are also harder
to find because of the spacing and the older ones only had one rear base screw limiting
you to a one piece base.
You can get a Jewell trigger for them (The best in my opinion) .
They make great doner actions and can be made to shoot really well.
