Bought a beater Mauser for almost nothing for something to learn on, but I think after I looked at it better someone has done this one in.

Looks like it to me. I don't think I would use that action. First things first, take that barrel off there before someone thinks they can shoot it.

Turns out its a Turk, so it's not as damaged as I thought, barrel comes off and then I'm going to square it back to standard large ring length(removing approx. 3/16 from front of ring) and square it. These actions take the small shank .980/12tpi barrels. I'm gonna try it, after checking the rockwell of course, and see If I can fix her.

If it's a turk and you square it up like you said, you might be in good shape. That entire shoulder might square up and might even disappear. That barrel is scary though.

Yeah barrel is a tomato stake for sure. Action is the "K. KALE 1942" Turk, Large ring small shank. I will post pics once I get the mandrel in to square it up.
