Is this a good first lathes.

Nothing more tranquil that getting to the last finish pass on a complex machined piece and fock it up. Been there, did that.

I've learned to have great patience and control my temper as I've gotten older.

In my younger days, I've ripped the piece off the machine and thrown it through the window. Problem is, I have to replace the window.....

My all time favorite best shot was on the surface grinder when I forgot to energize the mag chuck and a piece of tool steel became a 3600 RPM missle and embedded itself in the shop wall across the shop. Thankfully, no one was in the flight path.

Amazing how a surface grinder can accelerate a chunk of alloy steel................
