Confused? HELP!

I was told a 6.5-08 is not the same as a .260. than others have said its the same, the difference is so suttle you wont know any difference.
what do you know?

The 260 remingtion is the same as the 7/08 just necked down to 6.5
case length is 2.025 for both the 260 and the 7/08 and they both
use the same head space gauge.

The 6.5- 08 is a wildcat and many have 40o sholders and some have
the standard 7/08 sholder ,so depending on who wildcated the round
it could be different than the 260 Rem

The 6.8 Remingtion spc Is different with a shorter case length of 1.676"
and I think it's a .277 dia bullet.

According to my cartridge drawings the lenght of the 6.5 08 is .020 shorter than the 260.
Other than that it is the same...according to the prints.
