Can a Savage Large Shank Barrel be modified for a Trued Rem 700?

I have a barrel that is currently threaded for a Savage large shank. The diameter of the barrel shank is 1.12". The shank extends long enough for the threads to be cut off and then rethreaded for a Rem 700. I know the 700 has a thread diameter of 1.06xx. Would there be any problems with this if the thread on the 700 action have been recut (trued)?

You could with a nut setup but a .060" shoulder is not enough to set it up like most remingtons
