Browning A-Bolt Magazine Spacer

My friend has an A-bolt that likes Bergers seated longer than his mangazine will allow. There appears to be a plastic spacer that is removable that will allow the longer seated bullets but I don't want to start prying on it. Does anyone know how to remove it properly?
