1914 Enfield

I recently bought a 1914 action. I noticed the first quarter of an inch was slightly smaller on the front ring than the rest of the front ring. Is that normal?

Re: 1914 Enfield

Yes this is normal. The section at the front of the receiver ring that you noticed was originally for the ring that held the hand guard on to slip onto. if you ave any other questions about your Enfield please contact me at gunworkscustom@sbcglobal.net
I have sporterized many of these actions from 220 Swifts to 458 Lott's.

Re: 1914 Enfield

Thank you so much for the information. I have never worked with the 1914 Enfield. I was not sure I was looking at something normal.
