Re: GONG / PAPER FUN MATCH - how did i do?
probably the best you can do is search topics on long range shooting, get some well regarded literature on the subject. get a .22lr, shoot alot at 100. then move to 200Y. where you are from, i don't believe suscon has 200Y, but GL300 range does. put a serious effort into the .22lr you would be amazed at what you learn from it.
reading wind, ballistics, and the fundamentals of marksmanship that spill over nicely into centerfire.
if you can find it, get some ammo and shoot 200Y with your AR, then 100 starts to seem easy. when you get used to 200Y, progress to a longer distance, and so on.
in another topic here i have the details of this years shoot, search "factoryville" you should be able to pull it up. it is for fun, no pressure, and you'll walk away with some idea of what you need to do. you can always observe and ask stuff.
we'll have 3 types of courses, a plinker, a silhouette, and a tactical marksman course. you can always sit down at the bench at the plinker station and click off a few rounds to warm up to the idea.
sometimes the biggest enemy is thinking you can't do something. while sometimes realistic, you never know until you give it a try. don't be intimidated, come on up.
...that's what i like about toe tags; one size fits all...
