Official rules say 'no suppressors'.

Previously they were a no-go because most match directors saw them as competitors attempting to circumvent (nobody wanted to use the word 'cheat'...) the standing rules against muzzle bakes or compensators. As of 2009, it has been officially added to the NRA rules - no sound suppressors.
