CMP match info/experience needed on AR builder

Hay guys I am getting into CMP competition and I need a rifle. I have looked over the net used my knowledge and spoken with thouse I consider to know more than I do. I still have not tracked down a rifle I want to buy to compete with. I am asking for your personal experiences.

It will most likley come down to just buying an upper but I would like a complete rifle. Do you know a smith who builds match ARs. Its a little more in depth than I'm used to with all the sight pins etc..

I know most of the componets I want just need some one who has expereince in match conditioning.

Jon

Hey, just a suggestion but if you want one that is already built and pourpose built at that, check out the new stag 3G. This gun is pourpose built for competition shooting and is an extremley good starting platform. I have shot this rifle and if I did not just complete building my owm AR I would defenitly get one. I hope I was of some help.

Thanks for the advice. I will not buy from STAG or RRA. If I get a factory gun its going to be a COLT. I was hoping to have one built. Im a big stickler for mil spec parts as much as possable. I realize my barrel and bolt carrier in the comp gun are not going to be mil spec most likley buy I am going to hold out for the best parts.

I was looking at these uppers that Creedmore sports has but I have no experience with them.

I could be all wet here. But, I'm curious to learn something from folks in the know.

The Stag 3G is purpose built for 3-gun competition.

I think that's somewhat different from CMP if I understand CMP correctly which is focused on service rifle competition. And, I believe has some very specific requirements.

My 3-gun AR is a carbine set up for close quarters although 3-gun competitions vary greatly so I am told.
