GLUE the scope bases?

Somewhere, I think on this forum but can't find it, I saw a reference to gluing the scope bases to a .22 rifle when the rifle wasn't drilled. Made me curious, but now I can't find the article.

What bases? Do you try to find something that fits the rifle, or simply rely on the glue/bedding compound/JB Weld or whatever to fit the gap in the contour?

What is "sticky" enough to hold? I'd hate to do this and have the bases fall off when the glue dried.

I've got this Model 34...

Thanks,
Earl

Well I finally found the answer over on Rimfire Central. Fellow uses JB Weld to glue Weaver 43 bases to Rem 33 and 34 actions.

Is the fellow using the JB weld to glue the base or is he using the JB weld to bed the base?

I too use the JB weld to bed the base similar to this video ...

From what I recall, he was actually using it to GLUE the bases in place without drilling the rifle.

I wouldnt rely solely on jb weld for a scope base.

I often use jb weld to bed bases like feenix has stated.

You might look up some info on gluing bases and such to shotgun barrels. I saw several site over the years about doing that but don't remember what they were recommending.
