Is that possible, mathematically?

Re: 22LR Max Distance Fun
Thank you for the replies and info. Maybe I'll look into a canted mount for it. Thanks again, Tom

Re: 22LR Max Distance Fun
I stretched my CZ453 Varmint out a couple weeks ago. I could get 200yd groups pretty well with some decade-old Federal Gold Medal Match. I was far short of elevation to reach 300, but if I turned the scope down to 9X and used the bottom of the fine vertical crosshair I could do it. Wind was a HUGE issue, but once I dialed in I got 8 of 10 shots onto a sheet of notebook paper. Then, I hung some party balloons on the backstop and blew through a whole box of ammo without hitting one, go figure. Tried adjusting windage but no-go, shot all around them.
I need to try different ammo, but until this brick is gone I'm sticking to 200 yds.

So, getting to the question, How far can I stretch the limits? Just trying to get a ballpark number. I am shooting CCI Velocitors out of a 16.5" barrel, zero'd @ 50 yds, with 25 MOA elevation left in the scope. Any guesses? Thanks for the help, Tom

25MOA will get you out to 200 yards. Try other ammo also. Give standard velocity a try also or subsonic. Often times high velocity doesn't shoot as good, its accuracy goes to crap when it goes transonic.
