What are you considering long range? If you are going to shoot past 350 yards you probably should look at the smokeless powder muzzleloader. I do not own one but they would have a little advantage in my opinion.
I do have an encore pro Hunter and i do know that shooting the black horn 209 powder and using the 285gr spitfire i can hold .5 groups at 100 yards. and i also know if you weigh out this powder it is very consistent. like less then 10 ES over a 5 shot string. so with that being said 300 yards is just about dialing it up and shooting it. however my bullet has a max range of 350 yards due to velocity and expansion. it will shoot farther but lethal killing power has a max range. So if you had a combo of smokeless and using a light long range bullet like from dead center. .375 caliber. ( which is to small to hunt deer with in Indiana) you could reach out pretty far.
