    Barnesuser,

I have never heard of the company previously. I use a 300 gr. Barnes original in 45/70. This has worked well in my Savage 10ML.

The reason i wanted to know was because my dad wants to hunt mule deer and elk in colorado and you cant use saboted bullets there but i wanted to stick with Barnes so i sent Barnes an email and he directed me to Thor's website but i wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them in their muzzle loader.

Thank you very much for the link. I think willl give them a try when he gets a mule deer or Elk tag in Colorado. I was concerned that the skirt was too thick to expand against the rifling but based on that group I think they grab on nicely!

From my experience the Buckhorn powder is what you have to stick with. A lot of the smokeless powders seem to overpower them into bigger groups. The other thing that is important is to get the right diameter for you gun.
