Knight Rifles Goes Under

From Shooting Illustrated Guns and Hunting:

During the recent NRA Annual Meetings, Americanrifleman.org/Americanhunter.org learned that Knight Rifles is closing its doors after 24 years as a key American firearms manufacturer. That news was confirmed late last week via an announcement from Modern Muzzleloading, Inc., a related subsidiary under corporate parent, Pradco Outdoor Brands/EBSCO. The press release stated, “The decision to close the Knight operation resulted from an overall industry downturn.” Reportedly Knight sales had declined sharply in recent years and efforts to sell the brand and company assets were unsuccessful.

WOW! What happened to their bail-out money??

It shouldn't matter that they simply couldn't compete, shouldn't they be bailed out by the Obama administration?

Re: Knight closes doors!

Dang it, I guess I'll have to break the news to my wife I need to go get a new one now! :P lol

Really is too bad, I've only ever owned one BP and it was a Knight and it still shoots well enough that I never even thought of replacing it.

When you have the competition that market has you have to stay leading edge or get out of the way.

Re: Knight closes doors!

I hate to see it and feel bad for those losing their jobs because of it but I haven't been overly impressed with Knight compared to other muzzleloaders on the market of lesser price.
