Re: UK rabbits again

Hello thar, great shot!how do you like the "Cooper".223? I like rem. 700's but the other nite I was looking at a cooper.223. model 23 I think. Looked impressive, factory target &all. Any negatives? Thanks, Dskiper

Re: UK rabbits again

Thanks lads, it is 410 yards,

I love my cooper rifle, it shoots very well, i had to order a 1-9 twist barrel as a special order,
it cost slightly more but well worth it, it will shoot 75gr Amax very well,
but i have also shot barnes varmint grenades 36gr these shot .5"at 100yds
also 50 and 52gr hornady bullets shoot very well,

As for negatives all i can think of that they have "very" nice wood,
its a shame to take them out into the hunting field where they pick up scratches ect,
but they also do a phoenix stock which is better for a hunting rifle.

regards
john.

Great shot John! Tell us a little more... What scope were you using and did you dial or holdover?

Re: UK rabbits again

The scope is leupold 8.5x25x50
i always use a rangefinder for long shots, then dial in for bullet drop,
windage is a thing that i just guess,
as it can be blowing in different speed/directions out to these ranges,
its just trial and error with the wind, once you miss a few and see where you bullet strike is
then you learn how to shoot in these conditions.
thanks
john
