Re: Thinkin about an new .223

I bought a FN TSR about 2 years ago. I couldn't be happier. It's the first rifle i've owned with a 20" barrel. In fact i just bought the same rifle in 308. I'm currently working up loads for the 308. With my reloads the 223 is shooting under .4 MOA. On the 223 i have a Luepold MK4 with the TMR reticle. I will have to admit i was a little skepticle of the overmolded stock, but it's not an issue. In fact i've come to really like it.

Tikka T3 Lite .223 Rem JRTE312 with Rings - EuroOptic.com

The price seems reasonable and they usually shoot great.

I got a stevens 200 on my college budget... they skimp on the stock and dont include accutrigger.

mine shoots less than 1/2 inch at 100yrds with handloads and less than an inch with store bought stuff.

when you have more spending you can upgrade trigger and stock.

I've heard some decent things about the new Ruger American Rifle. MSRP is 449.00 but I'm sure the street price is less. Apparently calibers start at .243.
