heres my on going build for allthings varment like



its a stevens 223 with a cheap scope for now,riflebasix trigger,stockys light weight thumb hole stock pillered and bedded, i lapped the locking lugs and bolt rails.

still needs a good barrel but two things, i dont know if i want to leave it a 223 or switch to the AI 223
and second it just shoots too dang good right now to mess with it yet ;-}

I would say to focus on optics and shoot it until it stops shooting well. Another idea would be to have the current barrel reamed to an AI and see if you like it. That way when you dump money into a new barrel, you'll know if you want to keep it a standard 223 or an Ackley improved version.

Shoot that 223 until its dead (which will be a long time). If you're going to rebarrel, look at something a bit bigger where you can get better BC bullets...think 6mm (.243)
