Velocity = 3,030 fps
...this past April 2nd...my longest confirmed kill on a g'hog was a paced/stepped off 578 paces....this shot was accomplished back in 1992
with a custom 25-06.
well today....I just set my personal best record....
drum roll please........
617 yards...as lasered with my Leica LRF 1200.
..not bad for an Ohio boy!!, eh??
Here was my shot sequence today:
1st shot = 234 yards = 1 kill
2nd shot = 452 yards = 1 miss [shot over]
3rd shot = same g'hog 450 yards = 1 kill
4th shot = 274 yards = 1 kill
5th shot = 617 yards, I held off to the right about 4 inches = 1 kill
6th shot = 405 yards = 1 kill
7th shot = 37 yards, Big Old Male...I actually held on his backline = 1 kill
All shooting was done off a Harris Bipod and my custom back bipod...
Soon I will be breaking out the portable bench!!
I did learn my lesson on the 1st miss @452 yards....there is about a 150 feet downward elevation change.....I have a gong I built at work and I will be "ringing" that at extreme ranges just to verify.
