308 Loads

What loads work well in 308win. Shooting model 12 savage. Currently using 168 a-max. Sub moa, but want to get under 1/2 inch. Hunting groundhog.

    A model 12 Savage?? are you shooting a savage F/TR with a 30 inch 1/12 twist barrel or something else?

    I'm using 43 Gr 4064 with a CCI BR primer in a DPMS heavy barrel and getting groups in the 3's and a very low SD, I found this load on a benchrest web site and I can't remember where. It's tough to get old my rememberer doesn't work like it used to. As always start lower and work up to this.

    168 gr A-Max and 43 gr 8208 XBR shoots in the .3's and .4s all day long for me.

    168 Amax shoot o.k. for me. I now read that 168 is no good beyond 600 yrds.
    175 recommended.
