Bet if you start playing around with some slower powders you could speed up the bullet and do some serious damage on varmints to 1200yrds. Wind reading with a 180grn .308cal can be a little tricky so practicing at range is important.

A 300 on a pd size target, I love it. Don't have pd 's here but old woodchuck will work. Hows the air time?

You should look at H4350, H4831sc or regular H4831, IMR-4831 and 4350, RL22 and RL25, maybe even RL19. If you want max velocity then RL17 and Mag Pro might be a route to look at. You'll have to pick a couple and try it out and see what happens. Just make sure you load up 3 ro 4 different loads in 1grn increments so that you may find an accuracy node in one of the loads. It is really better to do some research and see what people are using. I know there were a couple threads on 300Win Mag loads here last month. Use the search function. Should be helpful.

Forgot about H-1000, it may be a little slow, and it may give you the speed you want. It was one of my accuracy loads, but just not the speed I was looking for in my WSM. With the taller case, it may produce the results you are looking for and give you great accuracy. The 200 to 210 weight bullets are heavy for the caliber and should be used with slow powders. I have a feeling if you stick with H4350, RL22 and H1000 will give the best results.
