125 Gr BTip @ 4000 FPS

Franklin’s 4000 FPS 30-Cal Varminter Is a Hit with Hunters « AccurateShooter.com Bulletin

Here is the link on the varmint rifle that some here said did not exist/could not be done; ie the 125 Ballistic tip at 4000 fps.

Don't you just love it when someone says "that cannot be done".

Somehow I'm just not surprised... Good looking rifles too.

I recall the debate that went on regarding this. Gotta wonder what the barrel life will be like.

I have Richards DvD " Death in the Green Grass" alot of red mist. You sure can see the vapor trail at 4000 fps.

Bountyhunter, I was the one that talked about this a while back, and I was met with much criticism when I said the 300 WSM could push the 125grn Ballistic tip at 4000+fps. I am glad you found this article, it proves that it's being done with the right components.

Really cannot say with that velocity, except we are getting 2-3x the barrel life compared to any other magnum on other loads.

My first 300 WSM barrel had 2300 rds through it when it took 9th at the Nationals. Danny Brooks has a WSM that has 3300 and still winning.

Not sure what the reason is, just know that it is happening.
