What's your favorite bullet weight, in .224?

I've come to like heavier bullets in my .223 and .22-250...mostly a 55gr. Hornady V-Max. I have yet to reload anything heavier. All I hunt with these calibers are groundhogs and coyotes.

What's your favorite bullet weight for varmints, in a .224?

Anything in the 52-53 grain size. Especially in the Boat Tail Hollow Point Match variety. Mostly Sierras. Can't beat em.

as heavy as the twist will allow usually but,...in a 12 twist barrel the 53 gn v-max ..it has a whopping .291 BC, nothing comes close to that until you get above 65 gns...!

I really like the 63gr semi-point from Sierra. The bc isn't very good, but I'm getting 1/4" groups & 3370 fps with 35 grains of IMR4064..... @ "normal" hunting ranges it works really good for me. It THUMPS hogs, deer, & varmints.

I have always like the 52 to 55 grain range. Lately I buy all 55's.

Most anything above 60 grains, especially the 65 SGK, and 75 and 80 A-Max.

I really like the 75 and 77gr stuff in my 223's and 80 and 90gr bergers in my 22-250..
