Looking back problem wasn't the A-max's . It was the difficulty of getting my Cooper Mod 22 to ride the bags consistently .I was getting fliers and thinking it was the load. Well I since sold the Cooper and I'm not looking back, slick action I just want a rifle that does well at the range and out in the field...... Now shooting the 65gr Sierra's out of my RRAs coyote AR-15 . Heavy load of Varget is giving me real close to 3,000 with 3/4 MOA at 100 yds. this Friday (11/06/09 I'll find some coyotes who will sacrifice them selves for this thread.

9" twist and 20" bbl I'm just guessing at velocity. Shot a load of 26.2grs of Varget behind that same bullet through a Chronograph that read 2861. So I think another grain will produce another 100 fps

Re: What about Sierra 65gr Game King for Coyotes

I have found the Gamekings to be too unreliable on expansion. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. I think the problem is the thicker jacket.

In my .243, I shoot 75 grain Hornady Hollow Points. They are much more likely to expand every time which saves pelts. The V-Max and Ballistic tips have given me problems with pre-mature expansion which leaves big craters in the pelt. However, if you reload you could probably slow them down some and alleviate that problem.

Another good bullet is an old timber but effective none the less. That is Remingtons PowerLokt hollow point bullet. I still prefer them over the modern plastic tip bullets if you are loading hot loads.

I'm also running them out of my 26"-barrelled AR 223 AI (26.5 gr. AA 2520). I'm gonna check vel.'s tomorrow, but according to my reticle and real world ballistics of this load i had to use 3300 fps mv and a G7 BC for the G1 .320 to get my reticle to match the ballistics...?
