Washington Yote

Shot him a couple of years back and had him made into a rug for my son's room. Rascal measures 60" from nose to tip of tail - the yote - not my son...

These guys prey on our local mule deer herd, and of course I'm partial to preying on that herd myself, so I like to cull the competition and get some good target practice in by popping the occasional 'yote dog.

Well, first I went to the pound, and got this big ol' pound puppy...

Naw, I hunt coyotes in Chelan and Douglas counties for the most part, sometimes Okanogan county. These things are a lot bigger and look a lot better than most of their cousins in the southern Californa desert areas where I used to call them. I actually do concentrate my coyote hunting in the areas where I also hunt deer. Figure the deer herds have enough stress on them and helps me justify shooting a few coyotes time to time. I have to admit, I'm not real serious about it though.

Regards, Guy

Guy,

We're practically neighbors. I hunt song dogs in Grant/Adams/Benton/Franklin counties, though I'm not as successful at finding big ones as you seem to be!!

I ain't one to brag but i've killed coyotes waayyyyy bigger than that one -125lbs. and he wasn't the biggest one in the pack- he didn't have the typical silvery coat yours does -had quite a bit of black on him.Big bulky head too.
Coyotes over here can and do take down elk -man love shooting them...............
