summer coyote hunting

my night hunting rig is about complete, will let you know how it works out , as for snares , i dont use them as we have hunting dogs , snares can cost me a good dog, and have. our coyote problem , is coming from the ranches around us , they are large ranchs we are small only about 25000, acres we dont graze cattle or goats, all we have is deer, guail, and the other s. tex. wild life, we have done a lot of work on water, food, cover, andover all wild life managment, and we have become a free lunch for predators, so we fight them daily.

I live in sw. iowa and hunt most every month exept july and aug. not because
of pups, but it is so hot the coyotes are real hard to call. also crops make really good cover and is very hard to see if you do call one.
I usually start calling again in mid sept. after some crops are starting to be harvested. on through nov. untill deer hunters scare the bejesus out of them
then start again mid jan. ater they kind of settle back down. HERE in Iowa
any hunter out will happily take a shot at a coyote when they see one. makes them real jumpy. coyote is all I hunt now am gettting where in need to walk slower to my stands and make my call. but still can't wait to make my next stand. campp

we find coyote hunting in the summer a lot tougherhere in south tex. not because of crops, butits so hot , and the wind blows off the gulf ,real hard most days , but we still get a few every week.also the does are having their fawns now so we try to control coyotes as much as we can .
