Been out of yote hunting this summer and with winter here and brother in law signing me up for a freindly comp I guess it's time. Three weekends and three dogs. Now I have realized I need a AR real bad If I want to keep up with the rest!Sorry no pics at this time. Any prefered AR'S out their?

Well, having built a few for my brother and his LE friends, there's a few things I have learned.
1) Bushmasters are very tight.
2) DMPS are looser, but also less expensive.
3) Quality magazines are important, some don't feed worth a damn no matter what rifle you put them in.
4) You can spend a pile of money very easily on an AR. It's like Barbie, for men.
5) It's an amazingly adaptable platform to work with and from.

If you intend to solely use it for plinking and hunting yotes, I'd gear up with a Bushmaster (17141 - Bushmaster Varminter Semi Automatic Rifle .223 Remington/5.56x45mm NATO 24" Fluted Barrel 5 Rounds Black A2 Buttstock Black Anodized Finish) and accessorize it to tailor it to your personal style of shooting.
I use an A4A3 Shorty for hunting close in, a Rem 700 for long range stuff.
Alternatively, 58347 - ArmaLite AR-10A4CBF Semi Automatic Carbine .308 Winchester/7.62x51mm NATO 16" Barrel 20 Rounds Black M4 Collapsible Buttstock Black Anodized Finish the AR10 might be a better choice. A little more expensive to feed, but much better reach out effective range, and most accessories that fit AR15's fit AR10's (but not all).
Everyone should have at least one AR in the family, IMHO.

I've used a White Oak Precision 24" unfluted upper, a DPMS 24" fluted upper and a light 20" unfluted upper. All happen to be .204's. All are amazingly accurate.

The 24" unfluted AR is a pig to carry and is somewhat slow handling but works OK in open country off a bipod or sticks. The 24" fluted barrel is much handier but I really like the 20" lightweight. It's handier to carry, handier to get in and out of the truck and quicker handling on stand. The lightweight still shoots less than 1/2 MOA at 200 yards. Its a Shilen barrel 'smithed by Dan Carey in Pheonix. I've pretty much tricked it out with a carbon fiber FF tube, Timney trigger (almost a must IMO) and an ACE M4 SOCOM stock.

If I were looking at a .223, I would consider the RRA 20" Coyote carbine. RRA has a great reputation for accuracy and you can customize it as you develope your own tastes and opinions.

You should have no problem finding a complete lower with an M-4 6 position or A-2 stock for about $230, then find the upper or uppers you want and change out as you see fit. Here is a good place for uppers. AR-15 COMPLETE UPPERS you will pay too much for the bushmaster name in my opinion.
