Re: Good/best varmint call

Gets kinda confusing. I have been studying and I think I have it narrowed down to three of the Foxpro line. FX3, FX5, or the new Fury. Right now I am thinking Fury. What you all say??

Re: Good/best varmint call

these electronic calls make it to easy. i feel its a little more rewarding when you can master and get them in with a mouth call. dont get me wrong, iv tried and seen what the fox pro and others can do ,but in my opinion, theirs no hunt in it. anybody can sit there and push a button. its like sitting at a deer feeder and picking the deer you want. i think people need to get out and learn coyote patterns, know what works during what season, and know where they are hangin out and try to out smart them. beat an old dog at his own game,,,, thats where its at!!!!!!!

I agree that everyone should master hand calls. You must also learn how to pattern coyotes and set up properly with an e-caller.

I suppose you don't use a scope either or just hunt with a bow to make sure it is "hunting"?

I just don't like seeing hunters bash other hunters.......

Re: Good/best varmint call

iv harvested deer and hog only so far with a bow. rarely use rifle for deer hunting. tried for coyote but hadnt got one yet. still working on that one. i really enjoy hunting with a pistol also. and im not trying to bash anyone, just my way of looking at it thats all...and i have taken my share of animals with an open sight rifles...one of my favorite rifles to hunt with is my Marlin 1894p 44 mag lever action.

You are completely clueless. Yup, just push a button and the yotes will run you over if your not careful. There is no patterning needed. Something tells me you know nothing about the subject. Lets see your pics of beating them at their own game.

Re: Good/best varmint call

im not saying it doesnt take some know how to get a sett-up and all that stuff, but an old coyote didnt get old being dumb. but wouldnt you feel better getting them to come in using your own skill and know how. you just dont learn that stuff over night. dont get me wrong, i have used the e callers and its funny how 8 out of 10 times you will bag a coyote. i apologise if i stepped on anyones toes, no harm ment. just an opinion thats all. maybe i just dont like to depend on batteries.

The reason I want an electronic call is - All I have ever used is mouth calls, some I made my self
and have killed Coyotes,bob cats,hogs,deer,turkeys,feral dogs,squirrel,pheasant,grouse,ducks
and geese using a bow and Coyotes and turkeys are about the toughest.

When using a mouth call you give away your position and every now and then you may have a
bob cat or mountan lion jump in the blind/brush with you. So the electronic calls sound like
the cure for this problem if you can set them away from you and use a remote. also we have
a problem with owls trying to find that easy meal and I have had and seen them take the hat
off the callers head. ( And as gomer pyle says "surprise surprise" ).

I have had Coyotes pass by a decoy on a dead run and never stop untill they were at a safe
distance from the bow hunter then stop and look back. ( Very smart those old dogs ).

Right now it looks like the foxpro FX3 is my choice but I want to look at the Wildlife Technologies
that BGURR recomended before I take the plunge.

Thanks for all the replies
