I think any sort of distress call will work. I've had lions come in on me when calling for coyotes, granted I wasn't expecting them to do so! Even had an encounter while calling during spring turkey.
I'd suggest hunting with a partner so you can watch each other's back, or be VERY ALERT. Those guys are pretty sneaky. Typically cats will take longer to come in than a coyote. Give it at least twice the amount of time you would for calling dogs.
