Re: Browning x-bolt varmint stalker
I have a Varmint Stalker in .243 that I use for coyote and rockchuck hunting. I mounted a Leupold VX-3 6.5-20X50 LR/T with the varmint hunter reticle and I love it. 6.5X is low enough power for calling in close range coyotes and 20X is way more than you'll need on the upper end. If I had it to do again I could get along with a 4.5-14 just fine. The varmint hunter reticle is the best. For my gun and load it gives me dead on holds at 200, 300, 400, 525, and 600 yards. We all know that coyotes don't just stand around waiting to be shot at and I think the holdover lines are a lot quicker than having to dial, especially when you're under pressure.
