55gr 243 range

I was wondering if anyone had any experience or thoughts on the max range of a 243 55gr. bullet on a coyote. My load is Combined Tech. Nosler ballistic tips moving at 3900 fps. This load is super super accurate in my rifle and would like to use it.

Re: 55gr 243 range

The practical range of the 55grainers is around 500 yards if there's little or no wind. Try the 95's - you'll extend your range a lot.

Re: 55gr 243 range

I would say 1000 meters at least however with that light of a bullet accuracy could be an issue. check out www.huntchat.com or www.6mmbr.com both have some info on 243.

what kind of 243 do you have and do you have any experience with 243 handi rifles?
