.22 MAG too small for coyotes???

i actually saw the thread right after i posted this...oops...and sconnie i am never against getting more guns...the more the merrier...i actually decided to get a remington 700 sps varmint in 22-250..im gonna pick it up tomorrow...get it sighted in...practice on some live targets on my fiance's farm (groundhogs) and hopefully have a pic with a few coyotes in it...im really excited about seeing the ballistics of the 22-250..been hearing nothing but great things about the caliber thanks for the advice guys

Put tha 22-250 right on that yotes shoulder and bust him! If you haven't shot one before, yotes and fox have a lot of fur that makes their heart/ lung area look a lot bigger than it is. Come right up the front leg and bust him through the shoulder where there is plenty to shoot at besides hide!

Coyotes are tough customers and I do NOT recommend using anything in rimfire.

You mentioned having a pest problem. If they're being removed from the planet, then there's no such thing as overkill. Dead is dead.

After too many runners, I stepped up to a .25-06 and have yet to get anything other than DRT. If you talk to professional coyote hunters, they all use larger calibers to put them down...on the spot.

This is a fact with my hand up, Ive killed a running coyote at 138 yds graveyard dead with a 22LR anybody that says a 22 mag is not enough aint never tried it.

but Florida coyotes rarely get over 60 lbs and thats a big dog.

I wouldn't be bragging about even shooting at ANYTHING, especially running, at 138 yards with a 22LR!

sorry i keep changing my mind but i couldnt find a 250 in the rem 700 so i went with the 243 win... sighted it in and hit the fields for some groundhogs but the windy day kept em in their holes...goin next monday to try n pop some yotes...ill let u know how i make out...thanks for the advice of shootin the shoulder...80gr 243 should be a one shot kill...thanks again guys

SORRY I guess Im just an unethical shooter for shooting at anything under 700 yds. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I saw another one in my cow pasture after one of my calves.
