Bryce's Sheep Hunt
Quote:

After glassing miles of ridges and draws, locating a couple hundred white rocks, we finally located an actual live sheep. It had to be some five to six miles away but at least we could tell it was a ram. We set up the spotting scope and saw it was a nice full-curl ram. As we were setting up base camp, now something past 8:00 at night, a quick glance through the spotting scope was enough for some serious excitement. Out from behind a rock, right next to this full curl ram comes this "way past" full curl ram. Our best guess at that distance was 41/42". That discovery was not helpful in trying to get a good night's sleep. Read More...

Re: Bryce's Sheep Hunt
Congrats, very nice ram.
Practicing long range hunting before a hunt like that would have made much easier your shot and hunt.
Thanks for sharing.

Re: Bryce's Sheep Hunt
Your ram is a brute! Great write up as well. You obviously paid your dues with lots of miles logged both up and down... you earned him.

Re: Bryce's Sheep Hunt
Monster Ram! Great write up.
It's always refreshing to read these stories where you find out you're not the only guy that's ever missed a shot or made a stupid decision in the field.
I think it'd be worth moving to AK for a year or two just to be able to get a chance to make a few of these hunts even if a guy had to work sweeping floors or hauling garbage HA!
Congrats again on what is truly a once in a lifetime kind of trophy animal.
