ICORE (revolver) Competition-Wheelgunners

For those of you that like to compete:

The International Confederation of Revolver Enthusiasts (ICORE) sanctions revolver matches around the country and in Australia. These are 'run n' gun matches and alot of fun and a good way to improve your overall skill with the pistol. S&W revolvers are frequently on the prize table as well.

I am the Match Director for one of these matches - the Central States Revolver Championship. If you are interested send me a message and I will get you the details or you can see more at ICORE Homepage. Match applications, rule book, etc all there.

Happy New Year,

JD

ICORE in Wy

Dear XP Hunter-
Looks like the closest match to you is in Galeton, Co-about 5 hours away. Not a casual drive, but maybe you could make a weekend of it.

If you go to the ICORE site, you can see the local clubs.

10th annual rocky mountain regional revolver match

Dear Ernie:
This match at this club will be on saturday May 3. I am sure Mr. Doug Reed (match director) can assist you 970-304-1701.

This is the Rocky Mountain Revolver Club in Galeton.

I hope you give it a try. (bring lots of ammo and speedloaders!)

I can shoot a revolver okay, but I have not used one for this type of shooting before.
Typically, I shoot a single-shot more often, and then semi-autos.
Would a 6" 586 work okay?

ICORE equipment

Dear Ernie:
That 586 should be great. You dont need to shoot .357's , the plain old .38 will be plenty for this competition. You will need a holster, belt and speedloaders.
