caliber input needed please!
I posted in rifles, bullets barrels, etc.. section and forgot about this one, anyway long story short I have all the parts for a TC encore pistol build except the barrel, I plan to have MGM do a 18.5" barrel for me to have a 20" finish length after the brake. My question is, out of the combos I will list below which one will give the best efficientcy and effectiveness and no cloud of unburned powder from the brake.
243 with 87grn vld and Varget
260 123 amax H4350
6.5x284 123 amax H4350
7mm-08 120NBT Varget
284win 140 vld Imr4350
30x284 168NBT Imr4064
All for whitetail 500yrds and closer.
Thanks for any input.

Re: caliber input needed please!
I would go with the 105 A-Max in the 6mm and don't for get the the 6-284.
I would go with the 140 A-Max with the 6.5-284 or the 284 Win with the 162 A-Max
Any of these will work.
The 6.5-284 or the 284 Win would be my favorites.

Re: caliber input needed please!
Ernie I'm pretty much stuck between the 284 and 7-08 because I have plenty of brass to use for both, I do however like the 284 case better, I just wasn't sure if I would get a full powder burn in a 18.5" barrel and what kind of velocities were attainable with 162 amaxs or 168 vlds with said barrel length. Thanks for the input.

Re: caliber input needed please!
The 284 will do real good with that barrel length and you will have MV's with 162-168 VLD's around 2700-2725 with H-4831sc

Re: caliber input needed please!
That's good Ernie, thanks for the help, I think I will do the 284, I have had very good results with those 2 bullets at around 3035fps from a 24" 7mm rm, so 300fps slower won't change a whole lot out to 500yrds.
