Winchester and Super X brass

I see that they both come from Winchester, and they're close in weight. Is it the same brass with a different label?
Thanks,
Bob

Re: Winchester and Super X brass

I've seen the mixed headstamps before too. I'm thinking the super x is older brass. Like you,I've weighed them and found them to be pretty much alike. I'd say for all practical purpose--unless you are shooting for long range hunting or benchrest you can load them the same and they are going to go to the same point of impact.

Re: Winchester and Super X brass

30/06 brass
one thing we can be sure of it all 70/30 brass, I think?
superX ( about 189grs) What i find to be is the western brass is almost always 2grs heavier than the superX. Frontier, LC match and FA match is about 5grs heavier than superX. RP brass is usually(over200grs) about 12grs heavier than superx.
Just more info than you relly need. Right?
Forgot to say. Winchester has been bought and sold many times over the years and each company that owns them has to put there own twist on the products, maybe?
