HUNTING consistency presents with single shots.
And HUNTING confidence results from efforts leading to real world accomplishment.

Dennis, you have it right.
Hot bore grouping is totally meaningless for hunting.
Cold bore load development DOES take a long time. I spend an easy 6mos CB developing (over maybe 300rnds).
-200yrds is the toughest of all ranges for LR bullets
-10min is the worst performing shot rate(for pretty much any
-Start off at 1/day, then 1/2hrs, 1/30min, 1/10min, all at 200yds.

With your best effort here, the immediate follow-up from cold will be what the barrel allows and there is nothing you can do about it, but accept it, or not. It will be better than 10min shots though.
If your first shot is 1/2moa ACCURATE, and your follow-up is 3/4, then you need to account for it in the field.

I don't ever hail marry shots. I position myself to kill with a single shot, or my mark lives another day.
