Who\'s loading a Warbird

I haven't started loading for mine yet but I wonder if anyone is.
What are you using?
I plan to use a 200 Nosler partition for starters, RL25, H1000 or ????

Thanks

I had one some time back in a Lilja barreled rig , I abandoned the project due to the cost of the brass and the false velocities stated by Lazz.
But I think that I got best results from R-25 and IMR-7828

    Best of luck with yours

    Re: Who\'s loading a Warbird

    Thanks guys.
I don't come here real often, I've got a lot on my plate right now but
for those who don't remember me or were not here when I started this project, this rifle is a
Ruger# 1 stainless that I spent a lot of money on.
Of all the things that have been done to it, the most important is the fact that it has a 28 1/2 inch
fluted stainless match barrel. PACNOR I believe. I can't believe I have forgotten what all I did to the rifle.
I've had the rifle now probably 3 years and have not fired it.
The dies, as far as I know can only be obtained from Lazeroni, at least if I want RCBS.
They are $200 for a full length set.
    Brass is very expensive.
Some times I wish I had picked one of the other "super' 30's
I'm hoping to get goin on it this spring tho'.
Sure am itching to see what it will do.
I asked about powders because I have heard of some pressure issues with RL25.

You can get data from Lazzeroni's web site. You should defintely start low and work up. The MAX load pressures are too high in my rifle. And in a TRGS that I loaded for they would have been plain scary. But I do hit the 3500 mark with a 180 Accubond using RL25 (27"). That TGRS (26") burning 7828 and pushing 180 Accubonds, would do 3425 (IIRC) and did it at 4 grains below MAX.

I think the dies are around $109 and you can order the brass from midway for $40 per box.

Most of the Pressures you here of are people trying to get the stated velocities from 25 or 26 barels.

I did not have any problems getting the stated velocities out of my rifle until receantly. My throat is gone, I need a new barrel.

I shot the 130 grain barns 4014 fps. That is smokin out of a 30 cal.

    Good luck
