Varget powder Question?

I have never used Varget powder. Has anyone used this for a 7mm Mag or 30-06 or both? I have heard good and bad on this powder. I am think about using this for both guns. Is there a better powder that I could use? I am also thinking of IMR4350.. Thanks

That's correct! Also, let me tell you friend, Varget is a great powder if used where it's called for.

Talking

I just loaded some 7-08 120gr ballistic tips with Varget to try it out. Used CCI 250 BR primers.

Eaglet, do you have a primer preference for Varget? The 250's work good with H-414, so that's why I used them.

specweldtom,

I've only used it with FEDERAL MATCH GM210M PRIMERS, on my son's 308. with great accuracy. I also like the CCI 250, but never used it with Varget. Let us know!

Varget is a little fast but might be ok with light bullets, IMR4350 would work better.
H4831 and RL22 is a better choice for the heavier bullets in both cartridges.
