Re: Tumblers tumbler stainless

The media shouldn't need any extra rinsing after you rinse out the dirty soapy water.

How long are you running it? I know if I don't run mine at least 45 minutes they won't be very shiny. Also make sure you use at least 2 table spoons of dish soap (I use about 2 1/2) and 1/4 teaspoon of Lemi shine. If you want gold colored brass just add extra Lemi shine.

I forgot the soap one time and the brass came out looking worse than when I put it in. Very tarnished with some dark black spots.

Yep, I put brass in. Fill with water to about 1" from top. Add 2 tablespoons of Dawn dish soap and 1/4 teaspoon of lemishine. Then run for 4 hours. If the brass is bad nasty run for 5 hrs.

I'll run a batch overnight, or all day while I'm at work. You can't "overclean" them so don't worry about it.

Re: Tumblers tumbler stainless

I have used this method for a few years now. Would not use anything else. Here are a few tip from experience.

1. Run a minimum of three hours for shiny brass and cleaned primer pockets
2. Use Luke warm or cold water.
3. Do not use to much detergent it will leave a film, one to two drops of Dawn is sufficient.
4. More is NOT better when using Lemishine, 1/4 teaspoon is plenty. More will cause dulling as brass sits.

This is a great system but takes a little trial and error for perfect results.
