Superformance powder for reloaders

Apparently we will soon be able to buy the powder blend Hornady has been using in their Superformance ammo. Link takes you to a short article.

OK, after reading that link, Im only gonna allow myself to get partially excited......SCREW THAT...................WWWWOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHOOOOOOO OOOOO!!!!Hot dang! Thats awesome!! The wheels are spinning in my head already....I wonder how hard it'll be to get our hands on in January. Im figureing virtually impossible, but I am SOOOO gonna try. This also gives me a reason to buy 160gr lever revolution bullets, and some 200gr lever rev 338 pills to try. Im also guessing the Superformance powder is gonna help get my velocities closer to published data on my stubby 24''barreled Model-70 Winchester, 300wby. WAY TOO COOL! Thanks for posting!!!

Hey, if they can "blend" powders, why can't I?

Anyone know if RL-50 is stick or ball?

My guess is that it is not a blend as much as just a different burn rate with a retardant
coating to control the peak pressure while producing more volume of gasses. (A longer
pressure curve).

Blending would be just as risky for them maybe even more so because of the number of
inexperienced shooters and the weapons used.

Just a guess.
