Re: storage of primers and powders

Store in original containers. They say powder should be stored in a wooden box 1" thick material. I store everything in and old refrigerator. It is pretty air tight so any moisture can't get in and I also store my primers inside gal zip lock bags. Keep them cool and dry. Mine are in temps between 55 and 70* in the basement of my house.

In their original containers in a cool, dry location where there are little changes in temp or humidity (50-65%, if possible).

Re: storage of primers and powders

Keeping primers in a container with an opened bag of rice gets rid of all humidity.

Re: storage of primers and powders

this stuff about storing primers and powder is all hype.
While I was in the process of moving from one state to another
I had all my loading stuff in one of those storage places.
No heat in them, cold and then hot, humidy etc....Since then
I have only had 2 primers no go off..And thats been almost
5 years since they were stored for over a year....Now primers
of long ago would have been bad,but now days, they should
last a long long time.

Re: storage of primers and powders

I'm with Savagelover. I have used powder and primers that were stored in a friends unheated garage for over 10 years. They all lived through the gambit of weather extremees. Not a problem with any of it.
