Eventually reducing neck wall thickness. Unless that's what you want.

Carbon steel should always be kept away from stainless. I dont see this as being a problem unless its embedded in the soft brass then shot and the stainless barrel is stored indefinitely without cleaning the chamber.

Rub steel wool on your SS barrel that spot is guaranteed to rust way before the rest of the barrel. But dont worry too much about the chamber thing. Chances that it will never hurt your chamber at all but just food for thought.

I dont understand this. Are you saying this happens with any stainless or 416 in particular?
