So many rounds, So little time

I jumped into this shooting and loading thing pretty deep all at once
Hunting season is getting close in a hurry and could use some help since
I have three projects that need to be ready to make clean harvest starting
in mid October.
As some of you know I am working up loads for my TC 7-30 for Coues deer
but My Daughters riffle is at the smiths right now having the new Lam. stock bedded, New(my old Nikon Buck Master scope) mounted and boresighted and trigger job being done.
With my newness of loading I could use some help to get into a good load
for the .08
I am reading all the loading manuals and they vary so much

The weapon is a Remington model 7 in the youth version
chambered in 7MM-08.
My Daughter has taken a Antelope, Coues WT and Javelina at 300yds +
with this gun using factory loads but she wants to hunt with friends
this year so I may not be there to coach on a follow up shot ( She Has never needed one)
or tracking

They all grow up

Anywho, Can someone get me started in the right direction so she can start putting some lead down range so I won't (yea right) worry about her with friends

Mike

Loaded for my daughter, 140 accubond, 47grns H4350, Win LR primer. Her rifle is a Weatherby Vanguard youth. I loaded to the length of the mag. It has worked very well.

Mike

Try the 120gr ballistic tip wirh 49.5grs of H414.

Recoil is low and velocity should be above 3000 ft/sec.

I have killed deer past 500 yrds with this load and they dropped in there tracks.

Plus all of the 7/08's I have loaded for (7 or 8) seemed to like this load the best.

I know the 120gr bullet seems light but run the balistics and you wil be surprised.

Re: So many rounds, So little time

Thanks everyone.
Recoil is not an issue as she has used my Rem 7MM Mag
for bull Elk the last 2 years and the M7 has a break on it.
As far as bullet choice, I have on hand but not limited to
Nosler partition 140gr
Sierra PH 120gr spitzer
Sierra GK 140gr spitzer
Speer BT 145gr
+ several heavier bullets

Thanks again for your replies

Re: So many rounds, So little time

Sorry !!!!

I missed the part about hunting ELK.

For this use I would recomend the 140 or 160 Accubonds.

The partitions dont expand as well as the accubonds at
7/08 velocitys.

And if she plans on shooting 400 or 500 yrds then use the 150
Ballistic tip.

She will not be using the .08 for Elk
only smaller game. Coues Whitetail in October.

Ill pick up some 120 Ballistic tips
and 140 Accubonds and give them a try

Thanks again,
Mike
