so frustrated.

I am trying to get into reloading for my .300 rum, but i have gone through 2 sizing dies over the course of roughly 20 cases put through them, the first resize die was a lee..

the second(forster) got one stuck on the first resize.

both dies are fubar'd

i'm using redding imperial wax, at one point so much i crumpled the shoulder of the case.

what is going wrong.

i just want to pull my hair out right now.

any help would be great, thanks.

Re: so frustrated.

Just make sure your die is set up right and use some Hornady One shot case lube. That stuff is great. Dont really know what else the problem could be myself..Just bad luck maybe??

Re: so frustrated.

The rifle chamber can be out of spec. I used RCBS when I reloaded for my 300 rum, and no problems what so ever.

Re: so frustrated.

The new dies should be cleaned before using, or problems similar to those that you are experiencing can arise.

Re: so frustrated.

Have you tried using a stuck case removing tool. Both Hornady and Redding make them. Unless you tried to muscle the stuck cases out with a pair of pliers, etc. the dies should still be okay.

I also use Redding FL resizing dies. They recommend that the die be set up so that the reloading press 'cams over' when you stroke the handle.

Second on the recommendation for Hornady one shot lube. And also it's really important to clean the insides of a new die as already mentioned.

Good luck-

Re: so frustrated.

90% probability you have lubed the upper half of your cases without lubing the lower part, down near the head, and that's where it's needed. Chamber specs nor camming over have anything to do with sticking cases, it's only a lube thing.

Stuck cases can be pulled out easily enough.
