Have 140 gr Bergers. Still
Plenty of case left for more. May try retumbo if these done do well. I have. 3 pounds of RL 33 I might try too.
And this follows suit with the subject. I have a LR 111 6.5x284 using lapua brass, 215 champion primers( not sure the difference between these and match 215). And Berger 140 hunting.
The 215 Champions are standard magnum primers, the 215M is also a magnum primer but match grade. I have not noticed a difference between the two in velocity, accuracy , or ES. The Fed 210 Match primers, are not magnum primers, but have been used in many of the loads in this thread, and typically used with H4831sc. Retumbo loads have been shown using either 210's or 215's. You can see a difference between these two primers in terms of load performance with either powder with a change between the two. The 215's can produce higher velocity/pressure, so keep an eye on pressure signs when working up to max charge weights or seating your bullet close or into the lands. As has been seen, these details can make a difference when optimizing loads in the 6.5x284. Good luck Monday!

Wach and Mario
I hope both of you get yours shooting great. I know the frustration I went through working on mine. Now that I found the length that mine likes I think I'll load some more with Retumbo to see how they do. I may get the same grouping but with a little more velocity. And I have more Retumbo powder. For season in a few weeks I'm definitely not changing my load from this last group. I was so happy with the last two groups I thin my grin wrapped from ear to ear

Thanks greyfox!!! I hope I'm ok starting at a load y'all already used and seating them where y'all did. I went up above the load here but obviously will start at the lower load first and if any signs of pressure come up, I'll stop and mess with seating depths little to try and find my sweet spot. You would think(well maybe you wouldn't buy I would) that a savage comes off the same line and they should all be relatively close to chamber length. But I guess we will see. Funny, is the look of my loaded round and the ones from HSm I bought..... Wow!!! Mine is sitting way long!!! But I fed them last night in the gun and they loaded and came out without pulling the bullet. Did have some marks on the ogive from the rifling.

Each chamber varies slightly as the reamer wears, and from one reamer to the next is not exactly identical. So the possibilities are endless.

Yeah I would expect minute differences. Nothing extreme. And, I'm just glad I hear that at the lands is working. I can come off more but too many people here are saying close to or stuff it so I'm gonna try this and see!!!

Also have Barnes and others to try but since I have so many 140 Bergers, I want to give these the first go.

Ooooops!!!!!

Made them too long. First one bolt wouldn't close, now round in chamber and can close bolt to grab case and can't push it out from the front. Any ideas????

Why can't you push it out from front?? I keep a wooden dowel around for that. Cleaning rod will do the same
