Re: Remington 9 1/2 magnum primers

matt,
I use them quiet a bit in the 7Mag and .300WinMag. After the CCI BR2 they're my second choice. I found them at a good price at a gun show in Raliegh, N.C. a few years back and bought 3000 of them and 3000 of the 9 1/2's. I haven't bought Federal primers in years and only one 100 pk of WLR in the past 10 years.
I have used them and found some accurate loads in a couple of .22-250's, .243's and the .25-06 (Sendero) I gave to my son. I have tried them in several more calibers that I have loaded for friends and associates. I'll probably try them in the 6.5x284 I recently acquired also. They work fine for me. JohnnyK.

My .338 Win Mag and 7mm Rem Mag love them. Wouldn't use anything else in these two rifles.

    Someone died 15 years ago.
    I have his reloading stuff.
I just used, for the first time yesterday, his No 9 1/2 Rem large rifle primer in a 45/70 case with .5 up to 1.5 gr Bullseye behind a 145 gr cast bullet.

    They all worked just fine.

    I don't know .

I use a lot of them on the intermediate magnums (70 to 90 grains of powder capacity) because
they give me better SDs than the Fed 215s or other primers that are hotter than the 9 I/2
    rem.

The heat range of different primers can greatly effect the performance of any given load and
    should allways be considered.

    Hi,

I am looking for some primers, I know this is an odd request but could I get your phone # or email, I would like to chat?

    Thanks

This is a very good article as I'm not sure everyone is aware that the Remington 9 1/2M and Remington 9 1/2 are different primers.
